The Conference Assistant (CA) is a student staff member of Housing and Residential Life who assumes responsibilities in residence halls in maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for visiting camps and conferences.

Job Information

Major Duties

Assisting event groups with Check in/out
Covering desk shifts in halls
Being on call to support event groups
Supporting professional staff as needed

Compensation

Paid $800 Bi-Weekly
Working 40 hours a week

Prefered Qualifications

Previously Lived on campus at Texas State University

Previous experience as a Residence Assistant, Orientation Leader, or Cat Camp Counselor

Required Qualifications

  • Must currently be enrolled at Texas State with a minimum overall GPA of 2.25
  • Must be enrolled for Fall 2025 courses at Texas State University
  • Must be available to work the Conference Season (Dates Pending check back in January for updates!)
    • If you are a confirmed Resident Assistant for Fall 2025, you will be allowed to work until your RA training starts in late July and transition roles
  • Must live on campus for the duration of position
  • May not hold an additional job on campus (Fall 2024 RAs are permitted)
  • Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University
